Sandra Wallus Sammons was for many years a Florida elementary school librarian in Lake County. Learning of the dearth of books on Florida history aimed at fourth graders, she began writing biographies of Floridians who lived fascinating, inspirational lives. I enjoyed this short biography and will be assigning it to my history students. It's an excellent detailed overview of two important colonial-era scientists who I had not heard of until recently. I'm glad to have discovered this and it has sparked my interest in reading a longer adult-length biography.
