The book is ok in covering PMBOK knowledge area however not even close to what I have experienced on the exam. Exam questions are situational situational situational I only used my calculator formula may be once. I will definitely look somewhere else if I want to get more situational questions and less theoretical questions...the exam was way tougher. Good luck

I took the practice exams in blocks of 10 questions so I could look back and figure out why I missed them AND also calculate my scores so I would know when I was getting near a success rate that would enable me to pass the exam. My target eventually became 80 - 90% on the Practice Exams so I could give myself a margin for error.When I read the book, I got bogged down because the PMBOK is a beast. I already understand Project Management. I do it every day. BUT when I took the practice exams and I missed a question, it directed me to a section of the book where I read the couple of pages before and after the answer to put context around the answer. The benefit: It FORCED me to different sections of the book.Since I was missing questions about certain practice areas, it identified my weaknesses so I could work on them. I also looked at some of the sections for answers I got right, but I focused on the areas for questions I got wrong.I passed the exam on my first attempt.That was my strategy. Good luck finding yours. I think this book can play an instrumental role in your success.One Final Tip: The day of the exam, study the formulas for the 30 minutes before going in to take the exam. This PMP Prep book was extremely helpful as a study aid to assist me in furthering my knowledge before the actual exam.I decided to take the mock exams by answering the ones I was knew immediately, skipped the ones I second guessed myself on or just didn't know the correct answer. After finding out which answers were wrong; I was able to go back to my study book and review the areas I needed to study. I found that between the my class book, explanations provided in this book as well as the mock exams, and reviewing my notes and then re-taking the mock exams, it assisted me and was very helpfulThis PMP Prep Book as an excellent study tool. I was able to go over the mock exams until I felt comfortable in taking the exam. While I still saw areas I lacked knowledge in, I feel was a very excellent book to help those to gain either further knowledge or refresh themselves before taking their exam.I could not be more pleased that I used this as a PMP book as an effective tool because it assisted me by helping me pass my exam the first time!!

The PMP Practice Exams was one of the most important, if not the most important, part of my study plan that helped me pass the PMP. I did every single question available. It helped me be mentally ready and I passed with AT in all 5 areas. I loved how it explained each answer with a reference back to the PMBOK. I wouldn’t have been able to pass without this! Would highly recommend.
If you do all the exercises in the book, you will be 90% ready for the exam. Very helpful and I strongly recommend!!
