The book is good but would like to have had it written with the knowledge that a non-paleontologist would be interested in finding out about the subject. Assumes you have knowledge of the technical names for the time frames and the dinosaurs involved. Books like this would appeal to the general public if at least once for each use of a time frame or dinosaurs technical name was used it had the common name or year span in brackets, this way a reader could look back when used again to better understand the text. Great research and source of information about early New Jersey.

I had the pleasure of taking the course with the author of this book. The book is just like Dr. Gallagher's personality, fun and intriguing. It is not written on a very tough level, even though it does cover so harder topics, so it was easy to understand the material. I believe this would be a good book for anyone interested in dinosaurs or even just interesting in learning new things.

The author was my Instructor at college, so this book was (obviously) required. However, it was very interesting and I hadn't known that dinosaurs roamed NJ. If you're in a dinosaur class, or you just really like them, this is a good book to try.

I bought this book hoping to refine my notion of what colors I should wear, but this book isn't helpful. Instead, it's a rather self-involved account of one woman's discovery of the colors that look good on HER, connected to a website for further info that tries to upsell you an online course for about a hundred bucks. The "free online content" that the book promises doesn't work, and requests for help at their website require multiple inquiries to get a response, but no fix yet. Disappointing.

In her book That's my Color, Jennifer Thoden helps the reader to find her or his best 5 colors for clothing and makeup. It is not only about what looks good on us but also about what resonates with us on a personal level and makes us happy. Jennifer Thoden's well thought out and playful approach to personal colors has helped me a lot in finding the colors that match with me. Before, I have always been confused with the traditional four season approach to personal colors because I could not decide between two seasons. The online course that is accessible with the purchase of this book is phenomenal. With the help of this book and the online course that gives a lot of color photograph examples, I found out my blushing colors are bright and warm and deep. My eye popping and grounding colors are the deep browns. I also found my happy colors and my statement color; all in the bright, warm and deep color palette. I would like to confirm this by buying the set of color cards that is offered on Jennifer Thoden's website when I have enough money to do so.

This is the best self help book I’ve ever read and I’ve read a lot!1. Jen Thodens life story is basically heart wrenching but ultimately victorious, and her anecdotes are well written and so enjoyable.2. The core message of color analysis is finding out and expressing who you really are. This book and her color system have proven to be so much more helpful than seasonal color analysis has been where you go back and forth between subtypes never quite sure where you fit.3. This is also like a short Artists Way where I was inspired to be creative and to feed my inner artist. Her illustrations and stories brought me so much joy!The book comes with an online course, and I will definitely be ordering a color fan from her site.

I connected with the author more through this book than I realized... I was completely new to the color wheel and honestly have difficulty recognizing many colors, but Jen’s videos helped me get it and realize I could look great in the right colors. This book is a small part of the whole and more personal approach to embracing your own unique signature colors. Thanks for the journey Jen!

Overall, it was an encouraging and positive personal story. If you are a woman of color you will have to translate the majority of advice for your needs. The authors offerings, though generous and heartfelt, are based on her own life and one size will not fit all. Keep this in mind.

Quick read for anyone wanting a jumpstart with adding color to your life. Not what I was expecting, but I enjoyed it. I expected more transformation and less fashion advice, although technically the color was for all aspects even though it seemed more tailored to what you wear. Nice stories that correlate with the power of color transformation. I already started choosing my colors and am excited to implement them! Jen is very relatable, which makes it that much better. Overall,it was a good book.

Think you are going find about your signature colors? THEN DON’T GET THIS BOOK. I spent over $17.00 on the paperback thinking the book would be focused on how I could discover my 5 signature colors. I thought the book would contain polished, and professional-looking photos of colors. WRONG. Almost all of the book is about the author’s personal life, and she mainly mentions color in the context of her journey and her signature colors. I did not buy this book to read the sordid details of her divorce and ex-husband. It got old hearing how amazing everyone thought she was throughout her life (except her ex). The only pictures are a handful of amateur cartoon-like drawings, and people interested in color analysis might wonder what relevance these add to the book. If you really want to learn about discovering your signature colors and more, check out David Zyla’s book because it is detailed, in-depth, and is customer-focused. Finally, don’t get me wrong; the author has a terrific website, videos and has developed her own system of color analysis – has some really excellent, forward thinking ideas – I even recently ordered her DIY Color Analysis Kit . It’s just this book did not deliver what the front cover indicated it would.

About the Author

Leah Brooks is the founder of Young Urban Modern Chefs (Y.U.M. Chefs), a San Francisco cooking school for kids. Y.U.M. Chefs holds classes, summer camps, and birthday parties for hundreds of children a year in its kitchen/classroom in the Mission District. Their focus is on changing the way kids see food, making it approachable, healthy, and fun. They also emphasize seasonality, and have a well-used classroom garden to teach growing and harvesting fresh vegetables. They’re also a staple at the Noe Valley Farmers Market, where they do community outreach and hold a monthly class. They are a project of Open Mind, a non-profit dedicated to the development and education of children. Leah Brooks grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where she began her culinary career. She graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle’s culinary program and worked under two of Seattle’s James Beard Award winning chefs for seven years. great book for emerging bakers! a little challenging for my new reader, but gives her something to aspire to. There are a lot of good recipes with adjustments for different skill levels ("little hands"). It is sturdy and seems like it will stand up to years of use! And good balance of sweet, savory, moderately healthy recipes

My granddaughter, age 9, loves to bake. Of all the books I checked; this was the clearest and most comprehensive. The authors emphasize good technique and recipes from easy to challenging.

The is a great find. I am a grandma of five girls under the age of 9 and wanted ideas for teaching them how to bake...not only are these recipes perfect the additional ideas for having kids help/learn are wonderful...plus I learned a few things myself;) highly recommend

My six-year old granddaughter has turned to this book for the simple joy of looking at the photos for years. Sometimes we actually make the recipes, and all have turned out well.

I bought this for a basket I am putting together for a silent auction. I was happy to see that it included savory recipes and not just desserts. It appears very nicely done, but I never actually tried any recipes.

My wife/son have had soooo much fun with this book.....I get more free time now lol! Seriously. The recipes are simple, fun, and taste great....without the delivery fees or restaurant crowds.

We love these MapEasy maps for travel, and have used them in Venice, Rome, and Paris. They are the perfect map for planning a walking day in a touristy city. We found them easy to read with plenty of detail, and liked the fact that points of interest (attractions, restaurants, hotels, banks, churches, parking, transportation, etc) are clearly market with the major sights drawn in with pictures and brief descriptions. Someone complained that the churches were not drawn to scale. If you are looking for an accurate satellite image or detailed driving map that extends beyond the city centers, then no, this isn't it, but we loved that the images and explanations helped us plan our walking adventures. The little drawings were even helpful with navigation! This isn't one of those useless local maps you pick up in restaurant foyers with cute images all over it. The scale and detail is very good and we never once got lost with these maps. I am on here writing this review now because I am searching for MapEasy maps for our next trip.

Not very useful as a map. It's more of a tour guide, with main sites to see. Has lots of hotels on map, but can't find the main train station. Bought on Amazon Prime, and when I went to return it found there would be a charge of $4.95 to return. Will not buy from this company again!

This map is for the tourist who wants to visit major sites as well as have suggestions for restaurants and hotels that are close to the historic sites they want to visit. With the drawings of the site right on the map, it makes finding them easy. Every street is not listed, but major ones and typical tourist routes are very plainly represented. Walking around with a map might label you as a tourist, but you can use the map to plan your route before heading out, or even use it to plan seeing things located nearby to save steps on your trip before leaving home.

You can certainly get a free map when arriving, but we found this map useful. It's accurate (which you expect in a map), but also has good detail in key tourist areas and has independent recommendations for restaurants etc. we used it for several spots, and found a grocery store while in route for a picnic (could not have been found without the map). We use guidebooks on our iPad, but you can't really use the iPad like a map, Especially in Rome. Even if using Google maps, I don't think it works well while you are actually moving about the city... You need a real map. Only downside, no real transit info, except metro stations. You do need to understand the Bus system via a guidebook or online tool separately, the metro is limited in Rome wrt tourist spots.

I liked this map because of the colorful pictures with the main attractions. It did not list all the streets but with a phone walking app it is great. The main reason I bought it was to use when scrapbooking the 2000 pictures I had.

My travel agent recommended this guide to Rome. I am so happy I purchased this as it was a great help while in Rome. Made of a sturdy, plastic like material so it holds up and doesn't get torn like paper maps. Plus it has suggestions of places to see while in Rome and highlights them on the map. Wouldn't go without it on my next trip.

This is definitely "elevated" as they claim. Most of the ingredients in this book, other than possibly the flour and the water will not be found easily in the home cook's basic pantry, nor will they be located at your local grocery store unless that store is a specialty foods place.All of that aside, this is a well organised and useful book regardless. The beginning sections of the book deal with how to make a basic dough and how flour and water bind together to make pasta, so for people just starting out making their own, this is helpful information. There is also a complete section on how to cook the pasta properly.The photos in this cook book are beautifully done and there are many of them, so if you are like I am and want to see if your product looks like the recipe says it should, this is a good book for that.The book is arranged into seasons so you have a perfect pasta for each time of the year.Overall I thought this was a delightful addition to my home library and would recommend it for those looking to add a little excitement to their family dishes.This review is based on a complimentary copy from Blogging for Books in exchange for an unbiased review.

I've been to the author's San Francisco restaurant a couple of times, and the book is kind of like the restaurant: good, entertaining, but not quite worth the price. It's part memoir, part cookbook. The recipes are kind of fussy, with some obscure ingredients you aren't likely to find outside of a major foodie capital like San Francisco. It's worth checking out of a library to get his take on basic pasta technique, which is not quite the same as you find in your average Italian cookbook or Youtube video, but it's not really a keeper.

Beautiful book. Most recipes call for crazy ingredients though, such as wild boar and things I've never even heard of. The book was extremely informative and very in depth in teaching professional techniques. I just wish some of the recipes were made from ingredients I could buy at a supermarket.

This is a fantastic book. I have spent cooking time in Bologne and in Brescia. These are classic classic!!! Fabulous find. Your pasta will be totally authentic if you follow these instructions. I could have saved thousands in cooking class fees but wouldn't have known how authentic and real this collection of recipes is (because...well Italy). I bought a copy for me and now I am buying one for each of my chefs. One of the best most clearly written books on classic pastas.

Pasta should be simple. It's what my Nonna preached to me from childhood. These recipes are not simple. In fact, they overcomplicate many simple steps. I also don't appreciate recipes that are missing lines of text. The prep instructions for the heirloom tomatoes on p. 55 drops a line of instruction. Not hard to figure what was missing, but this is just unforgivable in a book at this price.There are too many recipes calling for exotic ingredients not available in most markets.The photography is stunning.

This book would be a great addition to anyone that has a sparked interest in cooking, and especially eating, homemade pasta.

I just received this book and am very anxious to start cooking! I was inspired to start making my own pasta after a recent cooking class vacation in Perugia. Well, I turn to page 186 for the corzetti with sausage, clams and Fennel but am bewildered that there is NO fennel in the ingredients? Just returned from the farmer's market with fresh fennel so I guess I will have to ad-lib this one!! Can't really review the book but the pics are fabulous and now I want my own corzetti stamp! :)
