This was great! The story is simple, short, and sparsely illustrated but it still kept the attention of the 4th grade girls in my small group. The story seems to define drama as 1) spreading lies/embellishing and 2) telling other people's secrets. It also includes the llama's reason for being so dramatic - she thinks people will find her boring otherwise. I wish that the story also talked about "drama" in terms of butting into other peoples' business, tattling, and not using positive conflict resolution strategies.There's also a handful of worksheet activities at the end that are actually pretty decent (I usually think included worksheets/activities are lame), and they seem to have the additional aim of promoting positivity vs. negativity.

The kids love talking about the drama llama, easy to remember and use in guidance lessons. Can discuss with students the drama that affects them and how to stop it. Also easy to introduce the word drama. Students experience it, but not always away of the meaning. The only thing wrong was the worksheets were 'eh', but I was able to create my own.

It gets the point across, but the writing is mediocre.

Great book for kids of many ages about a topic that is getting so out of hand. Good for individual counseling and small groups.

Honestly one of my favorite books. I read it years ago and am now gifting it to a young scientist. It is a compelling read that intertwines David's story with the callous approach to nuclear energy in the early 20th century. Honestly this book is just a fun read, that is also informative. The pace of the book keeps up well, and you keep wondering how this could possibly happen. I really love the parts about his science teachers in school noting that he would never properly conduct any experiments, as he would throw out information that didn't stick to his hypothesis or just not test certain factors at all.

Had to be read for Pre-AP Chemistry. Really creeped me out that a high school kid could get a hold of all that stuff so easily and that he had no conscience about exposing everyone to all of that toxicity. For a guy so smart, he was really pretty dumb. My little brother who is a Boy Scout really liked the book too.

I learned a lot in this book. The last chapter has an anti-nuclear bent focused on the poor economics, but never detailed why nuclear isn’t economical. I was surprised both by how many disasters I had been unaware of and how few power plants are currently online.

I really disliked how this story was written like a 200 page long newspaper article, BUT personal feelings aside it was an interesting story that actually taught me a lot about nuclear power and chemistry.

Nice little story about what a kid can accomplish if he is interested in abstract subjects. I read this because it reminded me of myself in my teens when I was more interested in teaching myself than most anything else. My subject at the time was mechanical. Today I am a Mechanical Engineer and nearing retirement. One of my hobbies now is collecting radio active minerals from around the world.

I found something to admire in David Hahn . . . in terms of his imagination and resourcefulness in putting together the components of a breeder reactor . . . despite not being able to spell.I liked this book and I thought the writer presented a clear picture of what this literally radioactive Boy Scout was all about . . .It is a shame that those around David . . . for the most part . . were not more interested in him --- to nurture him and guide him in the right direction. He could have been a scientist in the truest sense of the word.More things I also found fascinating was the uses of radium in ordinary households (like clock paint and fish bait). . . until we find out that it caused all manners of cancer. How Hahn was able to get enough radioactive material to build a neutron gun -- for example, tritium from night-vision sights. How a book on chemistry experiments inspired him.I find David Hahn's story-- extraodinary. And I am sad for him and at the same time --- believe that I am all the richer for reading about this frail genius.

As both an Eagle Scout, Scout leader, and working in the commercial nuclear energy field, I felt that the book had a very anti-scout and anti-nuclear slant.The story of David Hahn, minus the anti-scout and anti-nuclear slant, was good. It shows that the current eduction system does not look for a student that excels in one particular area, but teach to the "average" student.

TOTALLY a disappointment! Nothing like what was summarized. WAY too much detail on radioactive material and hardly any on the boys life. Didn’t even finish it, it never got better.

Even though this series is written in the manga style, I learn something new about the history of Japanese cuisine with every volume. There are even 1 or 2 recipes included at the end of each book. Even read in order, the back story of the individual characters is still a bit disjointed and hard to follow. The back stories are not that closly interwoven into the culinary stories, so character devleopment comes in second to food. So, if you are looking for a manga story with food thrown in, try elsewhere. If you want to know more about how the Japanese developed their cuisine and and a bit of their food culture, this short series may do just fine.

I somehow thought I would learn more about Japanese food and drink from this volume, one of several compiling the episodes in a long-running serial. But the info is doled out in tiny tidbits, and the underlying plot becomes repetitive and tedious, as is inevitable when a serial is reassembled into a book. After a while you just don't care anymore about the tension between the young reporter hero and his father or his bosses, even if it does involve fine food and sake. Oh well.

Love this series. I wish more of the series would get translated to English. Although this is probably the most incongruent of the books in the English translations it is still worth reading. Although labeled as a Sake volume the book lacks unity and meanders away from Sake as its core topic. If you are interested in reading Oishinbo I would not start with this volume but this still has interesting information.

My experience has been pretty mixed - some are good, most are average, a few have been awful - but the Taskforce stories released by Taylor are among the ones I've enjoyed the most and BLACK FLAG is no exception.In BLACK FLAG, Taylor wastes no time placing Pike, Jennifer, Knuckles and Brett in harm's way - and of course the thrill is reading how they dispense their own brand of justice (read: retaliation) in return.You don't need to have read previous books in the Pike Logan series to enjoy this - just don't go looking for a lot of character development or deep philosophical discussions. Pike Logan's world is very black and white - there's right and wrong, good guys and bad guys, and then there's Pike, the good guy willing to do bad things because sometimes it's necessary.If you enjoy reading thrillers with protagonists with that worldview then you should be reading Brad Taylor - or said another way: if you're a fan of fictional heroes Mitch Rapp, Scot Harvath or Gabriel Allon then you should be a fan of Pike Logan as well.

The task force gets involved in a modern day piracy adventure! And, they are adding crewmember, Jennifer. Full of action-adventure, the plot races to conclusion in Jamaica. Some authors can pack a punch in a short story. This is an interesting action short story but does not do anything with these established characters. What has made his long form stories so good is the deeper nature of the relationships and the crazy bad guys. This has very generic bad guys and is just in mission mode most of the time. You can guess the story arc from very early on and it follows it without much deviation.Not a waste of money per se since not very expensive and you get an intro to the new book, but was like seeing an impressive looking cream puff and then finding it is filled with cool-whip when you bite into it.

Another exciting Brad Taylor short. After meeting with some Irish dude Knuckles agrees with his bright idea to going after Blackbeard's 'treasure' off the coast of Jamaica... and then the real fun begins. Who uses the Black Flag? Why pirates of course! So guess who Grolier Recovery Services team run into? A fast fun read. Another thumbs up for Brad Taylor.

Interesting storyline, could hardly put it down... Love Pike Logan and his team... on to the next book of their adventure...

Brad Taylor never disappoints. Another great read that I was unable to put down. I've come to love these stories as much as any series in any genre.

Through examples and even exercises...always a favorite of mine....he offers honest step by step advice. If you feel your business or even your life, in general, could benefit from staying more focused, getting organized or maybe managing your time more efficiently........this book is for you.

This is a helpful book that I love to read.This book is loaded with helpful information, tips and guides that I need to know about how to beat procrastination and increase my productivity. Empowering book on day trading. I still don’t quite have the courage to do day trading yet, but I have used the concepts inside which are also applicable to swing trading. Very good book

The book is extremely primitive.

Really enjoyed reading this book. His writing style is very conversational and lays out everything very simply. So easy to follow! As a new trader I was able to easily digest all the information Andrew was providing. He shares a set of rules for day traders to live by and plenty of examples explaining his methodologies for success. Highly recommend this book.
